PLEASE HELP KEY IGNITION PROBLEM

I own a 1998 Oldsmobile Intrigue and currently cannot get the key to turn in the ignition. I can put the key in the ignition and when the door is open the still beeps so it is recognizing the key in the ignition. But I cannot turn the ignition it's stuck. If anyone has any suggestions I would really appreciate it.

Two things: Absolutely verify this is the key for this car - happens all the time so match it with a spare or try the spare.
If steering wheel was turned hard when shut off the tension on it might be a bit much. Jockey the wheel left and right if that's a possibility to. Lock spray or even WD-40 type might help if just stuck tumblers. You'll need the correct key if at all possible to remove the defective lock cylinder (even if farmed out will help) for a new one,
