Oy...need help re 2003 Toy 4-runner 2wd v8

I need some advice here:
Yesterday out of the blue when I started the car life was different:)
The check engine light was on, as were two others, the VSC Trac and Trac off lights (both on dash) were on.
RPM, speed, odometer and c/h and gas gauges are completely dead. That part of the dash... no dash lights.
We pulled and checked all the fuses, nothing we could see wrong.
ANYONE have a clue on this? Is this a computer failure or?????
We got hammered with the recent fires and am trying to deal with this in the most inexpensive way. Any thoughts are appreciated.

Forgot to mention mileage... cannot be exact as the odometer is dead, but around 90K is a good guess.

Did you check all the fuses?, even the ones under the hood. It sounds like a main fuse problem,and if it is you got to find out what made it blow.There's a chance that a trouble code has been stored in the computer.Autozone might rent these code readers out, not real sure. but anyhow I would start with finding out what codes been set and go from there.

No I did not check any fuses under the hood... didn't know there were any... I checked, with a friend, the fuses under dash only.
I really don't know a lot about cars... but Need to try everything inexpensive first... I will try that tomorrow. Not sure where they are, but will try to get some help finding them if they are not obvious.
Absent a fuse, any other thoughts?

Dave: Well, we DID check all the fuses under dash (again) and under hood. nada. We really didn't kow WHAT to do with those weird looking fuses in little clear boxes:)
If you think about it, everything appears to be related to the transmission... thus the Lights on the dash panel, the lack of info on RPM, speed, odometer and gas gauge. Only temp and dash lights don't seem part of this.
That said, is there anything else you can think of? We couldn't FIND any inline fuses TO check... are there some that we missed that might be related?
Please, forgive me. I know almost nothing about cars... this exercise in futility is cost-related. We got whalloped in the 14 day evacuation for the fires and having another large bill will knock us senseless.

You really need to have the codes read or its gonna get exspensive this problem like shooting in the dark.
