On quick boots

Anybody tried these new quick boots...do they do the job, how long they last....they seem very easy to install but not sure about preventing water from coming in and grease from
coming out.

I ,personally, am not a fan of these at all and would never install them .
If you plan on keeping the vehicle in question,then i recomend replacement of the boots,the correct way.
And for the price of replacement axles at places like Autozone and Advance and such,why bother,just replace the entire axle assy.
If the boots are torn already,dirt/water/contaminants have already entered the cv joint and the joint should be serviced anyway.
SO,IMO,No on the boots,Yes on the replacement axles .
Thats my opinion,see what the others say!

im with jim also. it will actually be less time consuming to just replace the entire assembly. with aftermarket prices these days, it rarely pays to rebuild parts.

Thanx for your info...is it hard to take apart the axle
assembly by yourself and then insert a new boot...
I think if possible pay for the 14.00 boot and just wait for the axle to make noise and then go ahead
and replace the whole thing by an experienced mechanic.

Agree #4. Not worth it to even replace properly with just a proper boot with many as whole rebuilt half shafts can be cheaper!
