Oil leak Sign In

I have a 96 geo prism that had an oil leak. My mechanic replaced the valve cover gasket which helped for a while. The it started leaking really bad again. This time he replaced the filler ca as the gasket on that was bad. This helped for a short time and now its leaking again around the 1st and 2nd sparkplug well, They are thinking that its a gasket or something to do with the well? Any ideas?

Re: Oil leak Sign In

You may have a problem with PCV system or simply too much blowby from engine wear and seals just can take pressure in the crankcase associated items.

If you pull the dipstick with the engine at idle, there should be a slight vacuum there. If not, investigate the PCV is working properly. Not all engines use the common just plug in a new PCV valve and I'm not sure on this car. I believe the car is made by Suzuki for GM or some of each, not sure on that either. Doesn't matter except how what was used in making the engine.

The problem can come with high mile cars or neglected oil changing which can clog things up and make leaks. Compression test could really tell if this is a cause, T
