Oil in gas tank Sign In

My wife put about 1/2 gallon of gas/oil mixure (weedeater fuel) into our 2001 Suburban. Since then the vehicle will loose all electrical power and stall. Do you think these events are related? It seems odd that oil in the gas tank would cause electrical problems. Any advice?

Theres a chance it could have contaminated the 02 sensors and injectors but you need to have the check engine code read to be sure, how much fuel was in the gas tank before the accident?, worst thing I've seen in this kind of mishap is the vehicle smoked like a freight train for about a weekUnsure

Dave has a good point, but I don't think there will be any adverse effects from the mistake. If it is a 32 to 1 mixture and you pour it into a 30 gallon tank, along with more fuel added all the time, the dilution will be so small there should be no problem.

Ditto: An ounce of the mix oil (about what might be in a half gal pre mixed) in 30 gal shouldn't throw everything off. There's more and more junk additives and alternatives in the fuel we are buying without us knowing exactly what that is playing games with us too,
