Oil Change Sign In

Hello I have a 1994 Plymouth Acclaim 94,000 miles. I'm going to change the oil and was wonering what some of you would recommend 5W-30 or 10W-30. It's winter and currently it has 10W-30 in it.

Re: Oil Change Sign In

With extreme cold you will have a slight advantage with the 5-30. In an older car 10-30 should be fine year round and the two are really close enough not to worry that much. The first # means thinner oil when cold and engine would crank better cold. Hot weather the higher # would not be as likely to consume oil - that's about it,

Re: Oil Change Sign In

hey
just to add

it was recommended that the 10w30 be used in temps 0 degress and above-
5w30 when temps will go below 0 degrees
but like tom stated-there close enough that if you already put in 10w30 ,you should be ok.
