Mad Just checked my girlfriends Accord which has been acting kinda hard to start lately. Now it wont start at all; half a tank of gas in it. Turns over fine but wont fire. Pulled a plug wire checked for spark and there was none. What is the next thing I should do before assuming I need a distributor? Anything else I can check? Thanks in Advance!

Hondas can be tempermental little devils, but the most common no-spark conditions I have seen are caused by either the ignitor or the coil. Assuming the cam belt is ok. Remove dist cap, watch for dist rotation while asst cranks engine. If rotation, cam belt ok. Check for voltage to pos side of coil KOEO. Next, check for voltage flicker on neg side of coil using 12v test light. If flicker, bad coil. No flicker, bad ignitor. Odds are this procedure will pinpoint your problem. If not, replace dist assy.

Wink Thanks for the reply, I fixed it. What it was; was the little aluminum/metal clip that fits inside the rotor...it had fallen out preventing current to go to the rotor head and distribute it to the plug wires..thanks for the reply though! Sly

Lol, all that in-depth testing I posted, and it turns out to be a bad rotor. I'm never that lucky. Glad it was that simple.

Cool
