New Struts	Sign In

I" have a 97 intrepid with 3.3 engine, my ? is how can you tell if your struts are bad, i have replce a wheel bearing and both lower ball joints all were bad and had play in them, but i still get a clunk from the front end akk i can think of is the struts all tie rods are tight is the anything im missing Thanks in advance Roger.

When do you hear the "clunk"? At any speed? When moving at what speed? When turning or gong straight, or both? Can you see any broken parts at or near the struts?

i mostly hear the cluck when backing out of the drive, or going forward at the start while turning its more on the right side of the car but i also hear a little from the left side, i also have a new drive shaft on the left side the threads were damage on the old one when removing the wheel bearing, i was told to take off my hub caps that they were making the noise but i don't think so i sound like metal. I also didn't see anything broken at the struts. is there any symtoms to tell if the upper ball joints are gone?

This vehicle does not have upper ball joints.
They do have stabilizer bar links; these links are well known for wearing out and causing clunking noises while going over bumps or turning into parking lots.
Have someone rock or bounce the car for you, while you’re holding onto either end of the link. If you free any movement or play; it’s time to replace them; even if they turn out not to be your clunk.
