Hey. I'm writing a post on here about my car. I have a corsa sxi 2.1 petrol, 2004. I was on the phone earlier talking to my best mate and i went into my car to sit there. I was having a cigarette. I had my window open, radio playing but really low and interial light on so i could see. I started my engine once to get my wipers too work then turned it back off. About 10 minutes after i did this i tried doing it again. This time it didn't work. I tried to turn the engine over and it made a clicking noise and nothing worked. I kept trying this and the same thing happend. What does it sound like? I need my car for work in the afternoon so need some info pretty quick. Please reply asap

You need to get a boost since your battery is dead. The battery itself may need replacing but if you can get it going with a boost, let the engine run for 30 minutes or more (you can be driving during this time). This will charge the battery back up. If the battery is defective or very old, then you need to replace it. If you have a volt meter and know how to use it, you should measure the voltage on your battery while the engine is running. It need to be around 13.5-14.5 volts. If it isn't then your alternator needs to be replaced. The clicking is your starter. the soleniod is causing the noise but there isn't enough current for the thing to turn the motor over. Good Luck -Gerald

Gerald is right check your battery and your starter it sounds like its not turning over so it is very important to check those two things. ACIAMOND
