My car will only start when I jump start it! Sign In
My car wouldn't start yesterday, when I turned the key the engine just clicked very slowly.

I borrowed some jump leads & hooked it up to a friends car & it started to work fine. Drove it around a bit & parked it up for the night thinking there was no problem.

Then this morning I tried to start it again and the same thing happened.

Its a 1999 Ford Ka.

Has anybody got any idea what might be wrong?

Sounds like typical symptoms of a bad battery but it needs to be tested to determine that.

With a dead battery, which this car sounds like it has, the car would not run for more than a minute or two with a bad alternator. Sounds like a battery problem.
