Hello everyone,
I have multiple questions regarding my 2004, Honda City, 1.6L engine. Please answer whichever question you can help with.
1- I have changed the 2 front tires recently. The ones I previously had have a pressure of 29psi written on them. Meanwhile, my current ones have a maximum pressure of 44psi. My car's recommended psi is 27-28.
Should I inflate the new tires to 28psi?
2- The shop I changed the tires at said he'd do an alignment. As I am not familiar with the procedure and I couldn't find a video about it is done, here's what he did.
After the shop keeper changed the front tires, he bolted them back on, and that's it. Was that a proper alignment?
3- Even before I changed the tires, I always felt the car to be less comfy on the road than other cars. It gets affected by any irregularities on the road. For example, if a small part of the road was lower than the rest, the car makes me feel like it hit a small speed bump.
Any help is appreciated.

1) You should always use the manufacturers recommended inflation. You can sometimes benefit in wear by adding up to 3 PSI from their recommendation but that will sacrifice ride
2} Alignment is adjusting the suspension of the car to point the wheels in the right direction to prevent tire wear and improve handling. Unless you own a $40,000 alignment machine, you won't be doing this yourself.
3) Performance type tires will sacrifice ride and comfort for performance and handling by design which is what I assume you have.

2) so should I return the car and tell him to do an alignment?
3) They were about 41$ each, I don't think this is the price for performance. Do you recommend any specific type that might increase comfort? Also, will changing the shock absorbers help? ( the car doesn't bounce)

I don't know if that shop is equipped or trained to perform a good alignment so I can't advise you on where except the dealer may be the only reliable source.
The ride and intent of the tire is dictated mainly by the size of the tire and not the price although the speed rating will effect cost and performance.

Mist: Notes on this thread,
You don't need to watch a video on how a car is aligned. Go ahead if you are just plain interested but the machine needed isn't affordable as Hammer said so you are trusting the tech to do the right things. You should get a printout of the results showing it's within specs. The tech should have set all tires to proper pressures listed for the car, checked parts such that it can take an alignment. It's quite a check list before doing one.
Tires. OMG - Always use the size suggested. Types, brands and within brands will vary greatly on the objective chosen. Ride, traction, speed and life expectancy and price. Really can't get everything all at once and they do matter for ride quite a bit.
Subject line you said ride comfort and want that apparently. So does everyone I would think. Wrong car totally no matter what you do. To me this car would be a practical commuter and fuel efficient. If you want to haul logs you get something else. If you want tons of passengers you get something else and on endlessly. All that and people want a reasonable price.
Well......... That's why there are so many different types of vehicles available and always has been that way. Technology is great but you still can't just dial up what you want it to be for that day,
