Mazda MPV sliding door problem Sign In

I have 2003 Mazda MPV 6 cylinder with 42,000 miles on it..while daughter was using it this weekend to move furniture her boyfriend pulled to hard on the sliding door to open it not realizing it was on automatic mode and would open on it's own..the door went back and immediately a buzzer went off..door wouldn't shut with remote or power button on the side panel..had to do a hard pull to shut it..he pulled the fuse to stop the buzzing to drive home. I replaced the fuse and turned the main power switch (on dashboard near steering wheel) off...both doors work in manual mode..with power back on the drivers side door works fine in power mode..but passengers door won't open with remote or automatic push button..also buzzer stays off until you touch the nonworking door handle..then the buzzer keeps going until I turn of the power mainswitch again... One thing I did notice is a black door stopper on the side of the passenger door isn't there like on the other side (working side)..if I look down the hole where it should be there is a fine little loose wire. Took to my mechanic and he thought the missing part was a sensor..but when he ordered the part from the dealer he said it was just a door stopper..didn't even replace it and told me to take it to the dealer..I called the dealer and explained my problem and was told this repair would cost me from 1200 to 1600 dollars to repair..As nice as it would be to have my remote doors work again I don't have that kind of money for the repair..I'll leave it in manual mode if I have to, but would greatly appreciate your advice to this issue. Thank you in advance for any help offered.

IT SOUNDS LIKE THE PLASTIC BELT IS BROKEN OR THE GEAR IS SIRIPPED. UNFORTUNATELY DERLERS COST ARE PRETTY STEEP. TRY A SMALL GARAGE, THEY MAY BE ABOUT HALF THE COST
