Number 2 is definitely vapor. I can't see where the other lines go but i would suspect the one with the repair is the feed. It will be larger line than the return usually. As you can see, these lines are plastic and cannot be pinched. You will have to find another way. Our fuel pressure kits come with a lot of adapters than can usually be used.

WooHoo, when all else fails, go around the corner to the part store for an extra pair of hands....then pray alot that you make it back. :)

The verdict is. There was no jump in reading by closing the fuel return and cycling the key.

OK, that's not good news.

We have to do some electrical tests now to make sure we are not losing any current to the pump. You are going to need a digital voltmeter and some long jumper wires so we can do a voltage drop test.

FrownHuge SighFrown Can you send me a list and I will go and buy them tomorrow? I do appreciate your help, make no mistake about that. Soooo frustrating. Would almost be easier on me if I just knew it was a bad "new" pump ya know. Ugh

But I much prefer to be thorough...so I will stay "in gratitude!" Wink

Re: Low Fuel Pressure Sign In

You need a digital voltmeter that read in tenths of a volt and jumper wires that will reach the battery in one direction and the tank in the other direction.

You can watch this video to learn how to do voltage drop testing. At the pump, the gray wire is the power feed and the larger black wire is the ground for the pump.

Got it, watched it, and think I actually understand it. Lol

Now to make sure my "thinking" is correct, I can just open the access panel to the pump and do what the video shows directly to the fuel pump itself and/or the electrical going through the car battery to the pump using the ground and live wires right???

So I can verify BOTH with this test? Or just the cars electrical?

You're awesome by the way, don't know why you all take such time with people....but I damn sure appreciate the hell out of it! (promise I am much better with electrical Wink)

Re: Low Fuel Pressure Sign In

You are going to tap into the wires where they go into the tank. You are running 2 tests. One measuring power (pos batt) to fuel pump power feed and ground (neg batt) to fuel pump ground.
