Low Coolant - drive on highway Sign In

Would it be safe to drive 260 miles on the interstate while a low coolant warning reads on my dashboard? Even says "low coolant, brake safely."

About a 2005 volvo s60.

Thanks.

Not if it's really low on coolant, unless of course you would really like to buy a new engine.

I agree, not a good idea to drive until you figure out why the warning is popping up.

Coolant is $10 bucks a gallon. Engines start at $3000. Pick one.

A small leak now can suddenly develop into a large one on the highway and at that time the best scenario you can hope for is a tow truck ride to a large repair at a local shop.

If things don't go that well and you drive it just a little further than you should have, then you are looking at a new engine.
