Left turn signal on 1987 Mercury Sable car won't work

The left turn signal on a 1987 Mercury Sable car won't work but the right turn signal will and seems like if the sensor thing was wrong with it then the right turn signal would not work. Any idea what could be wrong? Do you think that the bulbs on that side may be burnt out?

Try the four way hazzard lights and see if the bulbs light. Should be same filiment of the bulbs. Would be odd that two went out at once but possible. Check at the sockets if 12v get's there if they look good,
