Leaking O/S C.V. BOOT Question Sign In

Hey folks,

So like the subject says I have a question about a leaking o/s cv in my mother's 01 Punto. The car has been making a whirring noise before gear change and she's been driving it with the city ("girly") button on constantly as the steering is stiff. I thought it was strange so I took it in to get it serviced for her and was told there was a problem with a leak and that it had to be fixed asap. She wanted to use it for a bit of a roadtrip this weekend but the garage manager told me she shouldn't, that it was dangerous. Is it really that dangerous or is he just blowing wind up my skirt?

Thanks in advance for any opinions!

If a CV joint or bearing is making noise you can't tell how long it will last. You have your warning which IMO is real,

Ps: That's a bit much for an avatar. Kindly make that disappear or choose something else, TY
