When my battery went flat on my manual Kia Sportage 2000 model (2L), we tried to crash start it on a level road with two guys pushing, but after many attempts it failed to fire (eventually I got a boost). It is not possible to push start this model of Kia, even though it's a manual?? I wonder if it's something to do with the electronic ignition.

If the battery voltage was to low, there may not have been enough to run the electronics and or the fuel pump?
By boosting the car, you were using the booster vehicle’s power souse to bring all of the electrical back to life. Once yours started the charging system took over keeping things going.
By rights this Kia should start by bump (push) starting; if there was enough battery; never heard the term crash starting before. It did make me want to open the post; I like it. How did you start it; I crashed it! I get the picture of running into a wall. LOL
