Kia Sephia door problem..unlike anything i have read on these forums...please help! Sign In

Ok so i have been having this problem since it got cold outside. After finally prying my doors open on my 2000 Kia Sephia.....Now I can't get the closed. But the latch IS NOT STUCK DOWN IN ANY WAY, like blocking it from closing....i USUALLY JUST MOVE THE LATCH UP AND DOWN WITH MY FINGERS...AND AFTER A COUPLE MINUTES OF TOYING WITH IT IT WILL CLOSE. bUT NOT TODAY! 40 MINUTES LATER i GAVE UP. iTS THE FRONT DRIVER AND PASSENGER DOORS. The back 2 are fine, and i noticed if i push the latch down on the back doors....it will lock like it should....but the front ones will not. Please any ideas! I'm at work right now with my doors just open at home, had to have my boss come pick me up...and its my two year anniversary tomorrow and we have big plans so I need to fix this today! Please somebody help!

I have had this happen to me several times. Once I got the passenger side to latch without being shut and took it to the dealership and paid $200 to get the latch replaced. My drivers side door actually did this this morning. I held it shut on the way to work (about 10 minutes) and once I got there it closed no problem. Someone said it has to do with moisture in the door. Hope you were able to get it fixed before your anniversary! :-D
