There are vehicles with wheels with specific direction of rotation suggested. Left means left side of vehicle and matters not which side of the road your car drives from but what is left as seen from the cabin. Wheels and even tires (tyres) can be directional - look for marks with "arrows" or "L" - "R" markings or a line with an arrow at the end.

BTW - This is usually high end performance cars. Never saw this on regular vehicles at all and you didn't say but it's possible,

I'M SORRY! I thought you were concerned with "direction of rotation" of the wheels of a car not which side the steering wheel is on for cars made for countries that drive right or left handed is the way I call it.

UK is dominantly driving on what I'll blame myself for calling "The Wrong Side of the Road" or actually "left handed" but steering wheel would be on the right - understood.

Now - There are tons of vehicles in the US that are with the wheel on what would be our passenger side and it's legal here as far as I know - just a pill with the exception of mail delivery trucks made that way on purpose such that driver is on the mailbox side of the road!

I don't know and can't speak for local rules/laws so do check. There are several vehicles as far as I know in countries from the USA that never designed the vehicle for use there and they are legally in use. The popular American muscle cars of years back were never designed with steering from the right side as far as I know and they are a hot item in some countries.

Check first with the local rules and be sure as you don't want to get stuck with a vehicle that won't be allowed for permanent use,

Ok: I found a link that should help you. UK calls their motor vehicle registry "DFT" which is for "Department For Transport" and the link for all information and questions is.......

http://www.dft.gov.uk/pgr/roads/

If you just click on that it should lead to what you need to know.

Good luck,

T

It is possible but probably you have to indicate it with a sign board
