ive been away from the forum for a couple months now due to work and vacation but im back to test your brains! 2002 Ford Ranger XLT 4.0 v6 auto 4wd 145,000 miles my 02 Ranger makes a "creaking and clunking" noise while braking at low speeds. The noise sounds like its coming from the front drivers wheel. some side notes: the noises only appear after the brakes have warmed up and the noise is more pronounced when turning to the left and/or slight suspension flex. i dont feel anything in the pedal and braking is not affected. just noises. i disassembled, cleaned, re-lubricated the brake on that wheel, the noise is still there. pads have plenty of life, rotors are not scored or warped, all hardware is tight. any ideas __________________________________________________ 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee 2002 Ford Ranger 2004 Toyota Corolla 1969 Ford Mustang Mach 1

Timken / Wheel Bearing/Hub Assembly-Front Warranty - 1 YR SP450201 $277.99 Application: With 4 wheel anti-lock brakes ************ I'm not liking the price of this but a wheel bearing is suspect IMO. Is it this style or "packable" inner and outer style? Couldn't find that so easy for some reason. Other idea: If rotor has an outer ridge ring that you can feel at all they can make noise. If a rust ring sometimes you can tap straight down on it and it will shed that and you must go all the way around inside and out or turn the rotor/replace as you wish or needed. That ridge ring can make more of a "click, click" when braking with the speed of vehicle. If bearing is still suspect at that price you really want to feel this thing bad with all other things looking good. May need to remove and feel by hand dammit. Know that these can fool you into thinking it's a right side and be the left and don't ask how but they can. I suppose there's a chance of the CV joint doing this but I don't usually go there first when this is aggrevated by braking but more with applying power while turning or just turning with brake or not. More: Is rust involved? Pad well stuck to metal backing? They can loosen or even fall off! Hey - No excuses for time off! T
