Sign In I have a '98 Jeep Cherokee, and last night I stuck my key in the ignition and I couldn't turn the key! The car was still beeping because the key was in with the door open, so I know it's not electrical. My steering wheel wasn't locked and my car was all the way in "park," so I know that's not the problem. I tried turning my wheel and the key at the same time, and nothing would work! I finally gave up, but am going to work with it some more this afternoon. Does anyone have any suggestions?? Sign In had this problem with a 2001 dodge grand caravan ---it's the tumblers in the ignition breaking down and seizing up. if you hit the end of the key(pretty hard) it will turn.
