Sign In The fuel pump went out and the car has a full tank of gas. I've tried sticking a hose down in there but there seems to be an anti-siphoning device in the tunnel to the gas tank. Is there anyway around this? GM doesn't put a plug on their gas tanks. There's no way I can replace this fuel pump unless I get that gas out. Any suggestions? Special Tools? Dealership wants $550 to replace it. I want to do it myself. Sign In I don't think that there's an anti-siphon device in there by GM but rather baffles to control sloshing of fuel. Your hose is probably just getting wound up and not reaching the fuel. Sign In May want to look into removing the filler neck from the car and siphoning the gas from the big hole left there.
