Horn Will not work Sign In

I have a 1998 Chevy S-10 2wd 2.2 liter truck mileage 130,000.
My horn will not work from the steering wheel, so I jumped the horn directly to my battery and it worked fine, I checked the fuses in the fuse/relay box under the hood, and they are okay. I also took the battery and box out and cleaned the ground screw which runs from the horn to the firewall, but when I put everything back, I still have no horn, what could be the problem ?

Re: Horn Will not work Sign In

If you are sure power gets thru fuse and any relay involved the trouble might be in the steering wheel/column itself. You will need EXACTING PRODURES TO DEAL WITH THE AIRBAG SAFELY! There's a spring loaded contact in under wheel that may have failed. Rule all other possibilities out and you may not know what you'll find if it's inside/under wheel.

Special tools (rent-able likely) required to removed the wheel and clock spring in there to look around,

Re: Horn Will not work Sign In

Can you tell me if there are any Relay's or fusible links other than the fuses concerning this horn, and where they would be ?

Thanks Tom for your help it is appreciated Wink

Basics: I don't pay for the master programs as I'm retired and do this with fundametal basics. There should be power at the relay - if not chase that down first,

There is a horn relay located in the underhood power distribution box. Oooops. Forgot to log in.
