Hep with a stalled car Sign In

Hello all,

I just bought a used car, I drove it home and the idle would jump then acted like it wanted to stall, well I went to the store and sat for a minute and the car stalled, I would not start back up, it has a clicking sound, could a dead battery do this?

It's a:

1998 Olds Integue

3.8 liter engine

steiber; Yes, low battery voltage can cause the problem. Check the battery cables at the battery for dirty connections. You'll need to remove the negative cable first, remove the 'bolt' that goes through it and clean the eyelet and the bolt; Then, do the same thing with the positive cable. Reconnect the positive cable first, then the negative.
If still won't crank, have the battery charged, then have the charging system tested. In that order.
