Heater doesn't work

I have a 91 Ford Taurus SHO, and I can't get any heat from the heater. Its an electronic heater/Air Conditioner. when i turn it on you can hear the fan working just fine but there is almost no air movement from the vents and what does come out is cold... I let the car warm up to normal operating temp, doesn't take too long and the engine never gets overheated no matter how long or hard i drive it. The a/c blows strong so i dont think the vents are blocked... what could be causing this?

Hi Lindsay. It is very possible that the heater core is plugged up. You can remove the heater hoses and try flushing it with a garden hose, but sounds more like it will need to be replaced if that's the case. Steve

Not to discourage you, but you may want to pick up a good shop manual for that car. NO NOT CHILTON. Either All Data or Mitchell. Doing a heater core on that car is not a straight forward job. You can go to http://www.eautorepair.net to buy a one week subscription to Mitchell pretty cheap so you will know what you're getting into before you start. Steve
