Headlight Problem Sign In

1999 Dodge Grand Caravan - the headlights do not always turn off when you turn the switch to turn them off. Even when they do turn off, the van's system thinks they are still on and it drains the battery down during the night. New battery installed and generator is functioning properly. Need suggestions as to what the problem is.

Thanks, bjh

Re: Headlight Problem Sign In

There are a number of potential causes for this and it’s a process of elimination, as you go through the test procedures.
Just to list a few of the suspects; headlight switch, high or low beam relays, body control module (BCM) (computer), combination flasher & day time running light module ( if this vehicle has DRL), wiring shorted to ground or power or a combination of any listed?
We weren’t trying to ignore your post; there’s just too many could be scenarios?
So if you do not have access to a full set of accurate test procedures and wiring diagrams, a scanner capable of reading BCM info and a good multi meter. I would suggest taking the vehicle in, to someone who has.
