Have to prime throttle body to start Sign In

I have a 1987 Chevy Blazer V-8. I just put in a new fuel pump and a fuel regulator last year. If I prime the throttle body it'll start and run. When I shut it off, it won't start until I prime it again. Can anyone help?

Just a guess: Bet the fuel pump doesn't get voltage just while cranking. Try holding the key in "on-run" position till you hear the pressure build an stop and bet it starts. Not fixed yet and the guess would be wiring problem with ign switch or the wires that are just hot when starter is engaged. Not sure where to look??

When I first put the pump and fuel regulator in, the pump would run then shut off, the truck would start fine. Now I trun the key on, pump keeps running and won't shut off. I checked for gas leaks and found none.

Despite having recently replaced fuel pump and regulator it's in question again. Pressure test will probably show it,

`sorry if answer is late 97 sub has fuel pump relay .turn key to run ,shut it off do this 2 or 3 times to get gas up to fire up porus lines cause air leaks not necessarly fuel leaks .this can be a big problem;when the key is first turned you should hear the pump, only for 2to5 seconds, thats why you need 2 people really to check it out
