Haunted windshield wipers : 1998 Ford Ranger XLT Sign In

I just bought a 98 Ranger XLT. In the mornings, the wipers will not come on in any setting (I've started testing them every time I'm in the truck). In the afternoon and evening, they're completely fine. How can this be?

Fords have a problem with their multi-function switches..... Usually the turn signals....

Best thing to do is get a wiring diagram & see where your are losing power or ground when the problem is occuring.........

These wipers are also tapped into the GEM module.

I replaced the multifunction switch. The problem persists.

Hi,
I just bought a 98 Ranger XLT. In the mornings, the wipers will not come on (I've started testing them every time I'm in the truck). In the afternoon and evening, they're fine, so the motors appear to be okay.
Anyone else have this symptom?
