If so remove the starter and check the ring gear of the flywheel for missing or worn teeth. If ok replace the starter motor; with today’s starter motor’s it’s best to replace it as a unit. Taking them apart to replace just one item, in this case the drive gear, is almost a waste of time & money; get a complete rebuilt unit. Dan.
