2000 Toyota Camry CE, 4cylinder, 90K miles. I recently had to have a new starter, and a remanufactured rack/pinion installed. My battery checked out as "good" and was 12volt. The mechanic said if it was him, he would get a new battery. What do you think? Do I need a new battery or would it just be "preferrable", and why? I've had the batteyr about a year and got it from AAA. Thanks, any advice is appreciated!!!! Michelle

If the mechanic said the battery was good, why does he suggest replacement?? Sounds to me like he wants to sell a battery. Go to a local parts outlet that does free charging system tests and see what they say. Remember, the parts house wants to sell parts, so their test may be a little bias.
