To add printed location of fuel relay if this is correct.............
From a parts site..........
"Under hood, passenger side, upper engine area, above wheelwell, in relay panel, mounted on inner fender"

Perfect HT! OP (original poster) that's not marked that there are relays under it like newer ones so keep that picture/diagram. If you do NOT have A/C that ends using another relay but now can get another new one and would as the things just raise trouble without provocation. No joke - I own older than this and always carry a spare! That much trouble.
The two bolts = 5/16th or 8mm but can bend that up for access also and put it back down.
Hard to see the bails that hold those. Larger one (again) you PU SH as is marked on the bail that holds them. On purpose PU on one side of bail and the SH on the other. Said already, brittle now or already broken but don't fret that. If worried plastic wire tie it but should fit tight anyway.
Late now but if that can keep fuel pump or anything with power when key is off and out it will kill the battery and you don't need extra troubles. No telling but I dare say if fuel pump is just running away like that it probably hurt it or isn't capable anymore?
These relays and others are and were common trouble spots. Added trouble is just touching them they might work so testing will snap them out of their attitude and be fruitless...........

well i replaced my fuel pump relay and it fixed it all from what ive noticed , hadnt drove it much yet but it runs better sittin in the drive. but im pretty sure its good to go now

Long thread already but glad to hear it. Common to me as said somewhere here. I carry spares now for that vintage and for other vehicle makes when something is that common.
High chance you have nailed it if you noticed a difference already at all! Trouble is you really don't ever know for sure but time helps say that was it.
If you can or wan to, waste the old one now cutting off skirt and try to see how it works inside as well. Points! They can even touch and make no connection electrically at all or just partially.
Anything that's going to pull that crap testing isn't trusted so time is the test. Hope it's all good now. Think on getting another universal spare or junkyarding for some if this becomes too common to YOU,
