Sign In I have a 2000 Subaru that I bought in WA (mild climate) and am using in MN (COLD!). Apparently, the previous owners used a diluter wiper fluid, because the entire resoviour is frozen SOLID (it won't even spray). Any ideas on dethawing/draining out this junk so I can replace it with some de-icer? Thanks! Sign In It should thaw from just engine heat if you can warm it up and put it in a garage. May take a while or speed it up with a blow dryer and when it looks good make sure the lines to the squirt tips and the tips are thawed and run it thru when they open. If it's easy to get at just remove a low hose on the reservoir or take the whole thing out and dump it. The common anti-freeze in washer fluid is methyl alcohol which will evap in time at the tips and right out of the reservoir if not used for a while, T Guest Anonymous Poster Dec 4, 2007, 9:37 PM Post #3 of 3 (2372 views) Re: Frozen wiper fluid! Sign In One other thing to watch out for is: if you have your car serviced by jiffy or monkey or whoever, lots of times they fill your washer with plain water or non-de-icer wiper fluid. I tell them to leave that chore to me.
