Forum project:
I see a lot of questions about the sensors so let’s make a project contain
the sensors description : (like this)
sensor term : maf = mass air flow
Function : converts the amount of air drawn into the engine into a voltage signal,
And that helps the ECM to know the engine load that’s necessary to determine how much fuel to inject ,when to ignite the cylinder and when to shift the transmission.
Location :between the air cleaner and throttle body.
and you can add symptoms how to fixe when to change etc..........
it's just an idea if it's good please add some things on the same post if it's not it's just worth to try.

i think this would be a helpful idea... with so many parts out there they do tend to blend in after a while.

The acronyms used all over the place are overwhelming. MAF, TPS, MAP, SES, CEL, OBD and the list goes on and on as we all know. You actually need to specify that they are automotive acronyms as so many of the same mean something else in another field. Now enter the ever growing text messaging abreviations and you start to wonder what language you are really speaking.
I think we are stuck with some of this.

We are actually looking to develop a new section of Carjunky to help keep the terms organized. I think if we left them here in the forums it would be unorganized and so confusing it wouldn't be worth it. But, two of the programs we are looking at I feel will work really well. Just one is more on the technical (html / web coding side) and the other is more straightforward.
It will be important I feel for our normal users as well as future site passer by's should be able to leave their technically comments.
My goals for this is to have an easy to follow guide, for acronym's, abbreviations, and parts descriptions. This way when a mechanic or a parts salesman tells someone they need a new part or sensor... People could get a quick idea what the part will do and if its on track with what was suggested to them.
I'll try and keep you updated.
