It is on the bottom of the engine and it looks like I can get to it pretty easily. Is there anything special I should about trying to replace it? Or could I possibly get away with cleaning around it really well and trying some good old fashioned JB weld on it? Pop out the old one; clean the surface of the bore it fits into and hammer in a new one. There are tools to install them but all I’ve ever used was a socket (don’t tell my Snap-On rep. LOL) that fits snuggly into the cup of the frost plug, then genitally tap it in as strait as possible. Just make sure the edge of the frost plug is below the surface of the block; if you don’t there is a chance it could blow out. The plugs themselves are cheap so buy a couple of extras you’ll likely screw at least one up hammering it in. Dan.
