The Toyota dealer had given an estimate of $290 a while ago without giving a breakup of parts & labor. Direct Tire people gave an estimate of $135. I would prefer to take it to the dealer, but it's almost double. Is it safe to take it to Direct Tire (or any other service station)? If so, what should I be wary of? Thanks. I would go for the price. What I don't like is when muffler shops make their own stuff and weld it all up such that individual parts would be very troublesome to replace later or impossible with the mig welders and other equipment I couldn't profit from owning so I just buy exact pre-made parts for whatever vehicle as needed.
