Hello. Can anyone tell me why my 99 contour keeps burning the #6 plug and wire? I take it to the ford dealer with the check engine light on and all they tell me is I need a new plug and wire. That much I know. What I don't know is why I've replaced them 3 times.

Is the plug wire routed correctly? Is it seated firmly on both ends? If it is laying against something, it can vibrate and cause the wire to break and therefore allow the plug to become fouled with unburned fuel. Just a guess without looking at it.
