Engine Light on and high pitch engine noise

Engine Light on and high pitch engine noise

2005 Dodge Caravan engine light is on a day after a high pitch engine noise started. the noise begins a few seconds after the engine is started. Had oil change and new battery installed today (battery light came on too).
anyone know what might be causing this issue? Engine seems to be running okay for now. Alternator?

Would start with a look at the belt- are the accesories rotating esp the Alt, the belt may even start smoking but you should be able to localize the sound then get back to us.
As for the lights being on -why not take advantage of the FREE code scan AND alternator test at part stores ie autozone.
