EGR valve Vauxhall Zafira 2002

52 Plate Vauxhall Zafira 1.6 club engine kept stalling. AA told me ERG valve was stuck. Took it out. Car now due for MOT. Is it safe to drive and will it pass my MOT

'52s didn't have EGR valves.  Ah, but '02s do. If this is a vacuum operated EGR valve, you can try disconnecting the vacuum source and plugging the hose. If your problem goes away, then they are probably correct. Sometimes, a chunk of carbon will lodge between the pintle and seat in the valve. You can usually take the valve off and clean it.
