Sup peeps...


[The car & problem]
Iv been having a issue with my 99 chevy prizm (same as corolla). The EFI or fuel injector fuse blows.


[When it started]
2 months ago the EFI fuse was blowing once a week. seems to like blowing out on fridays :/ Then on 4th of july it blew and thats when i decide to inspect the fuel injector wiring.


[What i did]
I traced down the injector wiring to look for shorts/melted/burnt or open wires but none were to be found and all wiring was very clean in fact.

I still took apart the fuse black to give all connections a good whip down. Turned the car on to give all injector wiring a jiggle to see if i could make the fuse blow out and find a short but again no open wires or burnt areas were found. After that day the car didn't blow a fuse until yesterday (august 16... a little over 1 month later) It blew out 3 fuses in a row but then drove fine for the rest of that day and today.


[how/when it happens]
They seem to blow right as i'm stepping on the gas from a stop or as i back out of a drive way then shift to drive, step on the gas and then the fuse goes. There was 2 times it blew as i was already moving and it has not blown out whale i'm on the highway.


[Your help or advise]
I have been going to many auto repair forums to ask this question in hopes someone could give me advice to finding and fixing this problem. Please and recommendations would be appreciated :)

Hmmm? Because this does this with load in drive I'd be looking for wiring that could be strained when engine does move some on its mounts. You said you had a good look but there's some clue in that circumstance,

Thanks for the reply...i am getting under my car today to give an other good look and probable running to the parts store to buy a new negative battery cable. ima give my ground contacts a good cleaning but i know how my luck is... that will most likely not solve the problem but it will get that possibility out of the way..

i will post the outcome of that cable..thanks again
