Draining battery... Sign In

My car recently has not been starting and I, along with others, thought that it was due to a bad battery. However, I had the battery tested and the worker's device was reporting a "noise in the system" and he was unable to get a steady read. He believes that something may be wrong with a fuse or with something connecting to my battery. I have had the car (a Saturn LS2) for nearly three years and have never replaced the battery. I charged the battery for about an hour and a half earlier this evening and turned it off after charging. About five minutes later I tried to turn the car on and it struggled to start. Any suggestions as to what is going on?

How will this car behave with a jump? If the battery was charged up in an hour and a half - you didn't say - then a good battery should have been able to start the car even with a drain unless excessive just five minutes later.

Find out how old this battery is. What year is the car? The battery is marked as to when it was made. Some are clever about hiding that or encoding the info. It's known by some marking exactly how old at least to a month. Any suspicions over a 3 year old battery or more it needs to go,
