Rear Door, Driver Side , Electric Remote And Manual Lock Not Working. Other 3 Doors Work. Locking manually does not work either! just that one door. Is this a linkage adjustment? Thank you, 2004 Dodge Dakota SLT 4.7L V 8, sohc Magnum 5 speed Auto Tran 54953 miles

Not certain with this vehicle but some if the lock actuator (a motor really) seizes it wont work even manually. If so the manual way would feel restricted and not move enough to go either way from where seized - open or locked. Be glad it's unlocked so you or tech of choice can take panel off to check out what is going on or not inside, T

Is there any way to move the lock actuator (motor), so that in the future, I can just do it the old fashion way, by hand? This sounds like a poorly engineered design, we all know motors will die. Thank you,

Yes - if you can get panel off, find lock actuator and typically rods are inside that could be removed from the latch where it's really locking and should move manually unless there's more corrosion or damage and may require parts to work or copious amounts of WD-40 and hope! Can be tight working thru small holes and sharp edges. Look for hidden fasteners and with all found removed should pull out with plastic crap zip things that are available if you break them. No need for hard force or you missed something! General is bottom of panel will pull out from bottom and go up when tilted - reverse to install when you can see if you can what's going on. Retired but just worked on an unfamiliar car the other day and stuff should make some sense when looking right at it . Here's a YouTube of a front door of slightly older one but should be the same idea. Short show but gives some view of the rods - just one should go to the actuator motor. This should be fairly easy and quick if you send it out. Right while you wait depending on situation and shop, T
