Damage under Pontiac G5 Sign In

2007
Pontiac
G5
2.2

Hello again people. I recently had a problem solved with help from this community so thanks. Now this time I damaged my vehicle on my own. I was on the exit ramp and went over the curb like divider due to it being extremely dark in that area and my lights are garbage(getting replacements). In the process I did some damage under the vehicle which caused it to leak (I'll provide video link to damage). So i'm just wondering which part exactly I need to replace? I believe its the oil pan but i'm not sure. Also with this damage is it normal for the car to barely get over 20 MPH? I mean when it happened I got stuck three times because every time I would accelerate it wouldn't move. I swear I got lucky on the 4th try. Any help is appreciated. I really need to get this bad boy on the road again.

Edit: I added images plus a better quality video below>>>

That is a bit blurry but it looks like the transmission oil pan, not the engine. Either way, you definitely don't want to attempt to drive it that way as you can do a lot of damage.

Same - good attempt at the video hard to get the best vantage point. Can see the corner of that pan curled under and fluid (red to me) dripping from the bolt. Just low fluid level you'd have problems. It might have leaked fast at first and left a lot at the scene which you are not at now not full enough to verify it.

Hope somehow that just wrecked that pan not the casting it's bolted to which you will get a better look at with the pan off and a replacement ready with gasket set and fluid.

Look hard for damage other than the pan to the casting of the case. That and if anything else inside somehow damaged and pan popped back into place.

It's damage so there's no one way it could be damaged but clearly leaking and as HT said driving anymore if not damaged not will damage it.

One more: If a used pan acquired it must be checked that it's correct and never been overtightened. That you can see with steel pans the bolts on some will bend the pan and lift the area in between bolts some correctible with a ball peen hammer and wood some maybe not. New a better choice IMO for this,

T

Thanks for the response. I uploaded a better video plus images if you would want to take a gander. What replacement parts should I acquire?

Yes, that is definitely the transmission but it appears you could have damage to the aluminum housing too. That could be very serious. that would mean a new transmission.

I suggest you call your insurance company.

It will have to be examined more closely to determine how much damage there is to the housing.

I would call the insurance company and just report that you hit something. It's no different than a regular collision. There will be a deductible though.
