DUE I NEED A STARTER?

DUE I NEED A STARTER? Sign In

Somebody help please!
1991 dodge 250 conversion van (above avg. condition)
118k miles

TROUBLE: will not start or even make a noise when ignition is turned......you can hear your heart beat.
happened all of a sudden with no warning, came out to car this morning and bam.... nothing

QUESTION: how can i quickly diagnois the problem, not a lot of experience with fixing cars and tools are limited

STATS: brand new battery less then 6 mths old, did not leave the lights on last night. never has failed a start in 16yrs has had regular mantenance and tune ups.

i would check battery 1st
if battery is good
check solinoid
hard to tell, may be battery,sol,starter,or
ignition switch

Check to see if there is current going to the starter when the ignition is turned to start. If there is current at the starter solenoid, replace3 starter. If there is no current, there are some fusible links on the left side firewall area under the engine. You amight have to remove the battery to access them. Do the checks the other poster suggested and then go where I am talking about. Check for current on the small wire on the starter. Good luck and let us know.

SORRY I TOOK SO LONG TO GET BACK. BUT THANK YOU EVERYONE...IVE FOUND THE PROBLEM.....READY FOR THIS?
(DRUM ROLL STARTS) MY BATTERY POST HAD SOME CORROSION ON IT. LOL I DIDNT DRIVE TO WORK FOR TWO DAYSAngelic LOL IM DUMB. SlySmile
