Cooling fan fixing prob.

I have a 1997 mercury cougar v8 4.6 and 95,000 miles on it, i am replacing the cooling fan motor. I am stuck because i can't figure out how to remove the pins that hold the motor to the assembly. Anyone please help? i could be done in 10 minutes if it wasnt for this....

The fan shroud, fan blade and fan motor are sold and installed all as one piece
