Coolant smell and fuel pump issue Sign In

I have a 1994 Ford Explorer that I recently replaced the engine and tranny in. The problem that I an having is this: I can hear the fuel pump constantly running and have a odor of gas during after it runs but no leaks. What could cause this? My second question is this: While driving down the road I get a faint smell of antifreeze, but the engine doesn't seem to be overheating, and the coolant is good. I had just replaced the water pump and hoses. I did find a a small spotting of antifreeze by the fill site on the radiator but don't know how it would have gotten there since the cap is tight. The oil looks good and no signs of a head problem. Wondering what this cause might be.

Dear Bob,
Heres a few suggestions: as for the fuel smell either check around your fuel injectors for a small leak or your fuel pressure regulator for a leak or malfuction. As for the antifreeze smell if you smell the antifreeze inside the car I would check you heater core or the hoses to the heater core for leaks or slight dampness. Sometimes when they first start going bad they will have a slight dampness to them. Hope this helps.Cool
