Coolant leaking from heat control valve Sign In

I have a 1991 Chevy conversion van G20 V8 5.7 350 A/c. Coolant is leaking from the heat control valve through the vacuum diaphram. I have replaced the valve and the hoses once about 4 months ago for the same reason. I have to top off the resevoir every few days...but no puddles on ground. Also engine temp guage not working. Can I bypass the valve?

If it is only 4 months old, the valve may still be under warranty.

You can bypass it, but your ac performance may suffer. Ground the temperature sender connector and see if your gauge pegs. If it does, more than likely the sender is bad.
