I have a 67 Ford Mustang. It continues to crank after letting off the key. The only way to get it to stop is to remove the battery cable. I have replaced the fender mounted solenoid, it did the same thing. Any sugestions?

Wild guess here. Check for an engine to body ground strap. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

Pull the small ignition switch wire off the starter solenoid (s) post. Check for power on that wire with the ignition on. Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.

How about if you pull the small (push on) wire off the solenoid "S" terminal instead of disconnecting the battery? Does it stop cranking? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.
