Your going to have to visually inspect it and see if there is any damage to the cable or any of it's mounting brackets. If the cable is still in good shape, then look for an adjustment to shorten it. Adjust it so that you have about an 1/8" of freeplay between the adjustable rod and the throw-out fork.
