I have a 1989 ford f-150 4x4 .When the weather is cold the clutch is very soft and takes awhile driving before it will work correctly. I usually have to add fluid a couple days a week in cold weather, but maybe once or twice during the whole summer..I can see no place the fluid is leaking out. Nothing under the truck where the slave cylinder is-in the tranny, or on the firewall by the master cylinder (Clutch) Nothing on the floor boards either. Some very good mechanics here haven't any idea. I am about ready to change the clutch master cylinder, but the line coming out of the front of it is plastic and I can't see how it is hooked in it. Seems like a plastic line shouldn't be able to handle all that hydraulic pressure but it has for the last 15 years. I sure could use some help with this.

HMM odd. I would think it the leak was small that it would leak more during hot days than cold. I think the slave cylinder is internal on this truck. If it is this could be the leaking culprit. On small internal hydralic leaks the fluid will collect clutch disk dust an d stay inside the bellhousing. Pull the inspection plug and take a look. There may be a mess in there. Also if you change the master cylinder follow the bench bleeding instructions that come with the new part to a T. If you don't you will be doing it over because the trans will not shift. Good Luck
