Citroen synergie 110 HDi missing on tick over

Can anyone help? I have now owned my synergie for less than 48 HRS and the damn thing is knockin/rattling on the top end while missing on tick over under load? Prior to my purchase its apparently had a new electric fuel pump and injector cleaner and fuel filter.
Upon my drive home from the garage it ran like a dream not missing a beat to the point i was very impressed at my new purchase.
Its now sounding like a steam engine struggling to tick over actually searching while keeping you're foot on the throttle!
yes I do have a warranty but want advise prior to listening to some more bumff that might be wrong.
any help would be very much appreciated
